Students might struggle to recognize the AUTHOR’S PURPOSE in an IELTS reading text.
This issue can cause difficulty when dealing with MATCHING HEADING QUESTIONS, because understanding the communicative aim of a paragraph, AS WELL AS the headings is necessary to correctly match them to one another.
Some communicative purposes can be, for example to persuade, inform, entertain, warn, explain, or clarify.
Can you think of any other?
